Description: Kevin JAMES is a lifetime disciple of the martial arts. Born in 1961, he began formal training in Kodokan Judo at the young age of seven under Harlan W. Emerson (4th degree black belt) owner and head instructor of the American Legion Judo Dojo in Lompoc, California.
Kevin James went on to become a successful tournament competitor winning city, state, regional championships. He is a 1985 Gold Medalist at the U.S. Armed Forces Judo championships, a world class karate competitor having won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at International, Pan American and US National tournaments sanctioned by prestigious organizations; the IKKA, ISKF, AFKA and USKA.
During his 50 year journey on the warrior path Kevin exhaustively cross-trained in; Aikibudo, Korean Hapkido, Tang Soo Do, Filipino Doce Pares, Kali and Pentjak Silat. He holds senior black belt rank or instructor credentials in the same.
In January of 2017, Kevin James was nominated for induction into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
