How does one define Influencer Marketing? If you’re a more experienced handler, you might not need this little refresher. However, it is still relevant to the subject at hand.

It’s something that we’ve had to learn to adjust to over time. Advertisements are not as effective on TV or newspaper ads anymore, not to the younger demographic, at the very least. That will be able to sell your product — and to a demographic, that matches the people you were targeted in the first place! Of course, as easy as we make it sound, finding the right person can be a lot harder than you’d think these days.

Part 2. Take Advantage of Influencer Searching Engines

The first tools that we recommend to you are Influencer searching engines. You might not have heard of these before, but the basic gist of these websites is to provide an easy way of tracking down potential influencers that you might want to work with. Of course, there are obvious pros and cons to each search engine — some might not work the same as another and most are focused on specific social media platforms (be it YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), but we’ll be covering all that and more in the compilation below.

1. InflueNex


The first influencer search engine that we recommend is InflueNex. InflueNex is a YouTube-based influencer search tool that you can use in order to discover popular YouTube influencers for potential marketing opportunities. The interface is clean, you get a search bar (for typing in keywords, tags, etc.), you get advanced filters (for selecting category, language, etc.), you get YouTube performance analysis, specialized rankings, direct influencer contact, and so much more. It’s honestly one of the easiest and most efficient marketing research tools available, and there’s not much fault that you can find with.


  • Custom keyword search and advanced filters are available for efficient browsing.
  • In-Depth YouTuber data analytics are also available on-site so that you can determine the influencer’s current reach, the activity levels of their audience, the channel’s growth tendency over time, etc.

BuzzSumo is one of those all-rounders. It offers a great variety of different tools that you use in order to discover content creators for marketing. You can use it to discover relevant influencers on the internet — not specific to platform (although they do have a Twitter-based influencer searcher that you can use if buy into their plans.) At the moment, their pricing starts at around $79 per month and higher — depending on the plan that you end up choosing.


  • Keyword searcher is available that you can use in order to discover influencers that meet your business’ niche market.
  • A Twitter-based influencer searcher is also available for discovering influential people on Twitter based on their posts, audience engagements, etc.
  • If you buy into their plan (or if you try out the free version), you can also get analytics for the influencers that you discover — allowing you to choose whether or not they would be suited for your brand.


  • The free version of the website is very limited, and you’ll need to sign up for their Pro trial version in order to try out some of the more advanced features they offer.
  • Their pricing is on the heavy side as well. As mentioned, you can expect to pay around $79 or more just to access their databanks.
  • Much like with InflueNex, this is an influencer search engine with a focus. You will be able to use this to discover influencers from different platforms, but its tools are centered on copywriting content or Twitter.

3. FollowerWonk


Much like how we got a very YouTuber-focused search engine with InflueNex, you have a Twitter-based search engine with FollowerWonk. It’s primarily made for Twitter analytics, allowing you to find influencers on Twitter that you can reach out to in order to promote your product or service. It doesn’t offer as many actual search features as some of the other search engines in the market, but the important bits are still there — allowing you to discover influencers through relevant keywords and tags associated with their profiles.


  • If you’re looking for a basic twitter analytics search engine, then FollowerWonk is definitely a search engine that you can consider. It automatically searches the profiles of relevant Twitter influencers and brings you closer to a person that is best suited for marketing your brand.
  • Analytics are available with this tool as well — which will allow you to analyze the influencer’s growth and their engagement level with their audience.
  • This can also be used by influencers who want to double down and their content and figure out how their channel is performing.


  • This is not a free program, and you will not be able to use some of its features unless you sign up for it.
  • At the moment, the cheapest subscription plan that they offer is around $29 per month.
  • It also cannot be used in order to parse through twitter mentions or actual posts. So, you’re relying only on information that is available on their profile.

4. Traackr


If we’re talking about influencer search engines the one that most people probably already know about is Traackr. It was one of the first in the scene and is the benchmark that led to the production of all these other influencer search tools. With this tool, you can very specifically discover influencers in a broad range of social media platforms based on keywords, platform, and even brands that they’ve worked with in the past! The algorithm that they use is top-notch, there’s no denying this, but you will not be able to use any of it unless you sign up and up pay their subscription fee (which has been rumored to round up to a couple of hundreds per month.)


  • Has a very wide reach, it doesn’t have a sole focus. It can be used as an influencer-searcher for a variety of different social media platforms and websites.
  • Unlike most influencer searching tools, this is curated by actual humans not just through algorithms which work but not in every situation.
  • Much like most influencer search engines, this does offer an analytics dashboard where you can analyze the performance of the influencers that you are interested in.


  • First and foremost, this is not a free program and you will have to sign up to use it.
  • Secondly, it’s a subscription-based service with prices that are rumored to start at around $500 per month. So, it’s definitely not a tool that all can use.
  • Also, its wide reach is definitely not a bad thing, but if you don’t make proper use of the advanced search features, you might find yourself scrolling and scrolling for a long period of time.

5. Upfluence


Upfluence, much like Traackr, offers a large databased filled with a regularly curated number of influencers in all of the relevant social media platforms. It’s a huge engine, and we wouldn’t be able to describe all of the great features that it offers. Especially for those who are looking to level up their influencer marketing research ability. However, it is also the most expensive research engine out there. You can’t try this for free either, if you want to be able to experience their engine before having to pay for the $750 (or more) fee, you will need to sign up and apply for a demo first.


  • If you’re looking for a search engine for influencers on a variety of different social media platforms, then Upfluence can offer that for you.
  • As of right now, it boasts the largest influencer database (with over 1 million reported.)
  • It also offers a very easy management feature that will allow you to double-down on your influencer marketing outreach and make sure that your progress is kept tracked.


  • If you want to try this website out for yourself, you will need to sign up and apply for their free demo.
  • As of right now, the lowest available subscription plan is priced at around $795 per month.
  • Again, much like with traackr, although you can’t call its larger database a bad characteristic, it can make it difficult to find suitable influencers — especially if you don’t make proper use of their keyword and filter search tools.

Part 3. Check Results for Your Influencer Marketing Research

For the next portion of this article, we’re going to be discussing a couple of other tracking influencer marketing outreach tools that you can use when you’re browsing the web for influencers that you think might line up with your brand! Of course, just like we did before, we’ve broken down the pros and cons of the tool and the general breakdown of how the tool works and how it can help boost your efficiency!


URL: is probably a name that you’ve heard thrown around in the community before, but how does it actually work? Well, for one, it is a chrome plug-in. So, you won’t have to visit a website each time you want to use it — all you need to do is access the chrome plug-ins tab and use it in order to contact influencers that are on websites such as Linked In, Facebook. Google +. Behance, etc. It also offers niche-relation algorithm analysis that will allow you to discover even more influencers based on the contacts that you’ve already made.


  • As a Chrome Plug-In, you won’t have to constantly switch from tab to tab in order to access the tools offered by a specific website.
  • All it takes it a couple of seconds and can find the contact information of the influencer that you are interested in.
  • It also has a feature that will allow you to discover people on a niche-related basis based on the contacts that you’ve already made.


  • Its reach as far as social media platforms go is fairly small.
  • For example, you can’t use this for sites such as YouTube, Twitter, or Instagram.
  • This is also a strictly-contact-only plug-in. It has a specific use that doesn’t extend more than what is offered.

2. Tweetdeck


Although Tweetdeck is primarily an influencer management tool, it actually offers a bunch of great features that you can use in order to connect and discover influencers for your marketing strategy. With TweetDeck, you can keep track of what your competitors are doing and trends on Twitter based on hashtags and keywords. Discovering influencers with TweetDeck has never been easier as it gives you the level influence certain people have based on the number of retweets they have (from the same people), how many lists they are on, how many followers they gain, etc.


  • This can be useful for managing your business’ Twitter feed.
  • However, the main reason that we recommend it for influencer marketing research is that it has search capabilities that will allow you to discover influencers based on the constancy of audience engagement, the lists that they are on, etc.
  • It’s also a great way of scoping out what your competition is doing right — as it will show you when certain competitors gain new subscribers and whether these new subscribers are potential influencers that you can reach.


  • The interface itself is a bit full — everything is all in one place.
  • Of course, you can collapse this and manage how you want it to look, but that’s a skill that you’re going to have to learn how to do yourself — and it’s not as intuitive as the interface makes it appear.
  • It is also a Twitter-based tool. So, its limits are fairly obvious in that sense.

HypeAuditor is for businesses who are interested in networking on Instagram. It’s a little bit closer to a searching engine than the other tools that we have discussed thus far, as it uses an algorithm to asses Instagram influencers based on their niche, their number of followers, and authentic audience engagement. It does come with a dashboard where you can see how that Influencer has performed over time — their most popular posts, their official ranking, etc.


  • Functions as its own search engine for Instagram.
  • Only takes into account real and authentic engagement — fake followers are immediately crossed off along with fake engagement.
  • Provides analytics based on influencer performance.


  • If you want to try it out for free, you will need to register and request a demo.
  • Instead of a subscription plan, you get to pay per credit ($30 is the lowest price.)
  • You’ll also have to contact them if you want to access some of their other features which will cost even more.

URL: is actually pretty similar to Not in the interface or build — as this is definitely not necessarily a chrome extension, but in their purpose. This, we recommend, because it can find email addresses for you. It can be a bit of a pain to scour through an influencer’s social media for a business email that you know they’ll respond to and sometimes even humanly impossible. That’s what tools like and are for.


  • Can be used for FREE — 54 searches per month
  • Can be used to discover the email addresses of blog influencers
  • Even though it is not exactly a chrome extension — it does offer a plug-in version that you can use in order to find the email that is connected to the domain of the website that you are on.


  • You will need to sign up in order for this to work for you.
  • Pricing is based on a request basis, which means. You’ll need to pay everything you run out of ‘request’ credits (their lowest is $34 for 1000 requests.)
  • It’s limited to blog-based influencers only.

5. Similar Web


For our last recommended market influencer tool, we have Similar Web. It’s a blog-based searcher tool that you can use in order to discover different blogs that are similar — hence the name. Much like the tool before, it is based on a result (credit basis), so you have a numbered amount of results available per search. However, it should help you discover influencers similar to ones that already have in mind — for an in-depth comparison basis that will prove that you are making the right choice!


  • Great for discovering blog-influencers that belong in the same interest groups.
  • Can be used not only for websites but for apps as well,
  • The credit-based payment is different for both websites and apps,


  • You will need to sign up in order to get started and use this for free.
  • Payment is based on a credit-basis (per search rather than unlimited per month, year, etc.)
  • Limited to blogs and apps (no support for other social media platforms.)
